Office Field Trip Report: Local STEAM Elementary School Career Fair
At Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers, we enjoy getting out and participating in the local community, especially when it involves promoting youth education and achievement.
We recently attended a career fair at a local STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) elementary school for its career fair. Our attorneys and Kentucky State Senator Attica Scott enjoyed speaking with students and telling them how we use each of those disciplines in our jobs.
In addition to meeting many students, we also held a short essay contest based on the following question: “Self-driving automobiles are already driving on roads and may soon replace human-driven cars. How do you think this will impact the safety of people on the roads, including pedestrians and others?”
After a vote, a fifth-grade student’s essay was chosen as the winner, netting him a Raspberry Pi 3 computer. In his essay, he referenced how self-driving vehicles will make roads safer because they’ll reduce the human factor that’s present in many accidents, while also mentioning how humans will be able to manually re-take control in the event of vehicle malfunctions.
Our Louisville auto accident lawyers are hopeful about the future of self-driving vehicles and their impact on road safety, especially as they become more commonplace. Auto accident fatalities exceeded 40,000 in 2017, and a single car crash-related death is one too many.
If you or someone you love were hurt in an auto accident that wasn’t your fault, we want to help. Call today for a free consultation.
