$1,985 Raised for Special Olympics Kentucky

March 24th, 2017 | Community Service

Ten people. Thirty-eight degrees. $1,986 raised. One icy plunge.

Those are just a few of the stats to report from our 6th Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky. On February 25th, ten costumed participants from Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers gathered at Brown-Forman Amphitheater to take a frigid plunge into the Ohio River. This was the culmination of weeks of fundraising, resulting in nearly $2,000 in donations to the cause.

In total, the 2017 Polar Plunge raised $158,885 to help fund the incredible and inspiring programs at Special Olympics Kentucky. Our Mardi Gras-clad group was among 750 participants who took the plunge that morning, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to participate again this year. As you can tell from the pictures below, we had a great time despite the 38-degree temperature, as it was all for an incredible cause that benefits folks right here in our own community.
